Design & Project Engineer
The Role
​
Full time Design and Project engineer required to work in a fast-paced design office
Applicant must demonstrate the following:
​

Good communication skills due to probability of being first point of contact with new and existing customers as well as internal departments and suppliers.

Show good organisational skills to allow occupant to keep to a schedule
-
Must be prepared to work overtime to meet project requirements, often at short notice
-
Work closely with the sales team to generate and complete designs from basic concept sketches.

Able to create 3D models within the required software and work them through AEL's Design Procedure’s including the below:
-
Internal design review’s
-
Customer Approval
-
Drawing Check off
-
Handover to manufacturing
-
Create Detail and GA drawings which will be used within the manufacture environment
-
Support needs of shop floor staff during the Manufacture/Assembly/Commission of Machines
-
Create and oversee FAT/SAT tests on machines
-
Ability to prepare risk assessments, manuals, documentation in line with UKCA (CE) requirements
-
Create Lists of BO equipment to enable purchasing to be carried out
-
Work to Project timing plans while Liaising with Project Manager to manage projects within time and budget constraints

Additional Information

37.75 hours plus overtime
-
25 days holiday plus statutory holidays
-
Strong Inventor and/or SolidWorks experience essential
-
Qualified to BTEC ONC/HNC or equivalent preferred
-
Experience of special purpose equipment design and manufacture desirable
-
Project Management experience desirable
-
Machining experience would be an advantage
-
Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office products
-
Full UK driving licence
-
Willing to travel, primarily within the UK
